Florida here we come!

This June, Scott took the boys and I to Florida for Katelynn and Bobby's wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony on the beach. The happy couple now live in Korea where Bobby is stationed in the Army.

It was an overwhelming 6 days of firsts for me and the boys. We flew out to Orlando on a Wednesday, they'd never been on a big jetliner. My social butterfly, Seth talked the other passengers to death and held my hand when the plane took off so I wouldn't be scared. Kaiden disappeared into his ipod world.

Thursday we went to Cocoa Beach where we met up with Mom and Dad Canter and the boys got to meet their big sister, Katelynn and her fiance Bobby. We also explored the pier and Ron Jon's Surf Shop... apparently they only make bathing suits for girls like Pamela Anderson. I told Scott I should've taken my gunny sack! On the way back to Orlando we stopped at a park next to the ocean to watch a rocket take off from the Kennedy Space Center. The torture of little sea creatures proved more entertaining for the boys... but now I know what is inside those little shells!

Friday, we took the boys to Gatorland where they got to feed the alligators and Seth decided to wrestle one... it got tired of eating weiners and tried to eat his big brother. Scott was also attacked, but by a crooked-beaked bird so old that it was blind and losing all it's feathers. That evening the boys wanted to try real seafood...as if we couldn't get that in AZ... so we took them out for lobster, snow crab, calamari, oysters, and shrimp at Red Lobstser (they do have those here!)

Saturday we hit Cocoa Beach once again before the wedding. It was Baywatch meets the Blue Collar Comedy Crew. If yer out in the ocean and people start screaming and running for shore but you stand there looking in awe at the purty fish with the big fin sticking out of the water... you might be a redneck. Oh yes! Seth and I were circled by a baby shark, but it wasn't awe. It was a mommy trying to stay calm for her 7 year old while polluting the water around her with a yellow haze. Kaiden and Scott were off buying a boogie board so they could attempt to surf with it! Anyways, we all loved the water so much we became lobsters...literally. Note to self: Extra sunscreen needed in salt water!

Sunday we spent the whole day at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure where we rode all the roller coasters and visited the movie sets. The Simpson's ride rocks!!! We vetoed Disneyworld...the boys aren't into Mickey, and it's a good thing because it was on that weekend that the two Disney trams collided.

Our final day was spent in Old Town where there was a carnival and a menagerie of shops to explore before heading to the airport. Our flight was delayed for hours due to the weather knocking out the computers and after 5 hours of listening to irrate people complain we boarded the plane only to get stranded in Atlanta overnight. However, we did get to stay in a 4 star Hotel... with no baggage. Well, at least I got some nice parting gifts (lavendar linen freshener, sleeping mask, soap, shampoo, etc).

I have to say... I was never so glad to see Pheonix, Az in my life! It hot, but it's a dry heat. 90% humidity + 105 degrees = 115 degrees of shockingly stifling, blistering, and exhausting weather. Florida was beautiful, lots of green things everywhere. Thanks to Scott's GPS we were able to navigate through the jungle without problem. It was an adventure, but one of those best kept a once in a lifetime experience. I think next time we head to the far North....
